I run sound and lights for other people's shows. Front of house, monitors, lighting, stage audio. Corporate events, conferences, concerts, private events. You tell me the call time and what desk I'm on, and I show up ready to work.

What you’re hiring
I don't own a warehouse of gear. I run whatever is already in the room, or whatever you rented for the date. Console, lights, mics, cable, comms. If it's there, I can run it. I'm slowly picking up a few pieces of my own, but that's not really what you're hiring me for.
I also DJ through Fusion Sound & Lighting in Greensboro, so I’ve spent a lot of calls on both sides of the table — running the system, and being the act depending on it.
Two kinds of people call me. Production companies and AV vendors who need an extra hand for a load-in or a show call. And venues, planners, and corporate teams who want one person responsible for the technical side of their event. I also DJ, so some clients just book both.
I show up early
Usually earlier than I have to. It's easier to find a problem at 2pm than at doors.
Tell me the desk
Send the console model ahead of time and I'll have looked at it before I get there.
Quiet on comms
Short answers, no chatter, no panic in the headset.
You hear it early
If something isn't going to work, I say so in advance.
What I run
Roles I get
hired for
Tell me which seat you need filled. On a smaller show I can usually cover more than one.
Front of house
Line check, ring out the room, mix the show. Bands, panels, speeches, whatever is on the schedule that day.
Monitors
Wedges or in-ears. I build mixes at soundcheck and fix them fast when someone waves at me mid-set.
Lighting
Board op and programming. I can busk it live or build cues ahead of time, depending on what the show needs.
A2 & stage audio
Mics, RF coordination, patch, cable. Keeping the deck organized and the wireless clean.
Corporate & conference
Panel mics, lavs, presentation audio, playback. Following a run of show cue to cue.
Load-in & strike
Push cases, run cable, hang and focus, break it all down. Some calls are just hands, and that's fine with me.

I'm based in Greensboro. Most of the calls I take are inside a two-hour drive. That covers the Triad, the Triangle, Charlotte, and a good chunk of southern Virginia. It also means I can make an early load-in without needing a hotel, which usually keeps your cost down.

01Do you provide the gear, or just run it?
I run it. The system is either already in the venue or you rented it for the date. I'm slowly buying a few pieces of my own, but that's not the point of hiring me.
02How long will you work a call?
However long the show runs. Hourly for a short call, day rate for a full one, multi-day if that's what it takes. I'm not going to walk out at hour eight if the load-out isn't done.
03Do you take overhire from other production companies?
Yes. A lot of my work is overhire. Send the call time, the venue, and what you need covered and I'll get back to you fast.
04What do you charge?
Depends on the call. Send me the date, the venue, the call time, and what you need me running, and I'll give you a number.
05What size events do you take on?
Anything from one panel mic in a hotel meeting room up to full concerts and multi-day conferences. On the bigger shows I'm usually one part of a crew instead of running it by myself.
06How far will you travel?
Most of my calls are within about two hours of Greensboro. That covers the Triad, the Triangle, Charlotte, and southern Virginia. Farther out, just ask. I quote travel before you book.
07How far in advance should I book you?
Whenever you know the date. Same-week calls are worth asking about too. Filling last-minute holes is normal in this line of work.
08Can you handle AV and DJ the same event?
Yes, and for a smaller event it usually costs less than hiring two people. One contact, one invoice, nothing falling between vendors.
09What do you need from me before the event?
Console and gear list, run of show or a rough timeline, load-in details and a venue contact, confirmed power, and a mic list.
